Here’s a style I put together that Barbie was so kind enough to model for even with her hectic schedule – you know, considering she’s a doll. The Bustier top is available online at H&M.
‘Escapism couture‘ is the perfect terminology one would use to properly describe designer Iris van Herpen‘s haunting collection.
When viewing a large number of her pieces, at one point I actually thought “…could van Herpen be my new McQueen?” Well, there will never be another Alexander McQueen, however after having read in van Herpen’s bio that she had interned under the late designer in London, I thought it made only too much sense. I imagine after interning with Alexander McQueen, it would be difficult to ever see fashion in a “realist” sense ever again. Although I like to think van Herpen found some inspiration from the great designer, it’s quite clear she’s succeeded in creating her own world of artistic expression.
Last Monday, I attended DKNY’S unveiling of their Million Dollar Perfume Bottle. I waited until today to share my photos because I do what I want.
Remember back when I went to see Uma Thurman at Lord & Taylor a little while ago, and I said photographing celebrities was not my thing? Well, lucky for me, I had no idea who Chanel Iman was when I attended DKNY’s event.
As the paps started to frantically snap away, I thought “oh, they must be testing their shots. What a great idea.” So I took this photo of them. Then I realized they were all photographing the Victoria’s Secret Angel who just walked in.

Chanel joked: “I’m here to unveil the….what’s it called again?” A few of the DKNY members looked like they were about to have a heart attack.

I had anticipated a block of gold encrusted with fairy dust and unicorn hair.
Before leaving, DKNY was kind enough to give me a sampling of the Be Delicious fragrance to take home!
