Summer Beauty Routine with Rembrandt and Glam Media – Townhouse Spa, NYC

This evening at the Townhouse Spa in Midtown, Glam Publishers were invited to celebrate Rembrandt’ s launch of their latest product, REMBRANDT’S INTENSE STAIN Stain Dissolving Strips. Publishers were treated to kick start our Summer Beauty Routine with complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while we indulged in manicures, pedicures, and massages. I was in ecstasy and floating on a cloud throughout my treatment. 감사합니다 to my manicurist, Sung Hae – and also many thanks to my pedicurist whose name I forgot to get before I left the spa. :( After our treatments we were all gifted with Rembrandt’s Stain Dissolving Strips, 2-Hour Whitening Kit, and Toothpaste, as well as some other great products.

I chose to get a dark nude color, topped with silver glitter. It was a different combination for me so I was really pleased with the results.

“My Nudes: A Backward Evolution” – NYC

While most of today has consisted of cleaning my apartment and doing laundry to prepare for my vacation (now only 2 days away!), I took the time to notice that my delicates, which I hung to dry from a light chord, were all nude.

It seems the popular trend these days is to remind people that under our clothes, we’re naked. I’m not just referring to nude-colored apparel, but also see-through clothing. Ladies, don’t tell me you don’t own at least one see-through shirt. Hung from my laundry (light) chord, I have a see-through Chiffon button-down from American Apparel, a see-through lace longsleeve shirt from Rainbow…and my nude bra from Victoria’s Secret.

I also have my nude ballerina skirt from H&M.

It makes me wonder, are we gradually evolving back to the very first fashion trend – Nudity? Unless you’ve been living under a rock the last year, I’m sure you’ve noticed all the different colored bras (and sometimes boobs) walking down the street these days. But what does that say about the future of fashion if most of the time people are wearing as little clothing as possible anyway? Of course, the seasons change. And with colder weather comes fur coats and feather hats – similar style to that of our Native Man.

Whatever the next chapter in fashion may be, for now I’m certainly enjoying my Chiffon and Lace, which depending on what you’re going for can hit a home run in either elegance or sex appeal…and if you do it right, sometimes the two can be interchangeable.
